Toward a Risk-Based Analysis of Organized Crime:
The Experience of Canada

Models that explain how organized crime operates are directly relevant to policing as these models affect how information is collected, the networks and individuals targeted, and the investigative tactics used. This poster proposes that Canadian law enforcement adopt a hybridized model in which organized crime is conceived as fluid, entrepreneurial networks that operate within both illicit and licit marketplaces. This poster was presented at the 2009 International Studies Association Conference in New York City.
