MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR GENERAL

Colonel Donald R. Dixon, Director General, CISCThis year’s Corporate Report for Criminal Intelligence Service Canada (CISC) provides a multi-faceted overview of activities at Central Bureau. Within each of our national service lines, under the stewardship of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, we have ensured that we are consistent in providing unique strategic intelligence products that meet the requirements of our constituency. Our mission is that of championing integrated intelligence-led law enforcement by providing knowledge and understanding of the threat and harm of organized and serious crime. This vital process guides the policy and decision making of the policing community and assists the government in enhancing the safety of Canada.

Central Bureau recognizes that its strength lies in the sum of its parts and is committed to working closely with the 10 Provincial Bureaux that represent the CISC family. The dedicated professionals at the Provincial Bureaux lead by example and provide the necessary contributions that allow criminal intelligence/information to be collected and strategically analyzed.

It is the aim of Central Bureau to project national leadership in maintaining a criminal intelligence platform on which to streamline data on organized crime and delivering effective criminal intelligence products and services. Our core values are weighed and measured by growth and development as we continue to examine our operations. The result is the production of timely intelligence that supports law enforcement and destabilizes organized crime across Canada.

This Corporate Report has been developed in the spirit of transparency and accountability and, each year, we will continue to articulate our activities and efforts in support of our constituency. CISC will continue to ensure that we are a beacon within the Canadian criminal intelligence community and serve as an anchor in all that we do.

Donald R. Dixon
Colonel
Director General, Criminal Intelligence Service Canada
