Strategic Intelligence Analysis Section
Strategic Intelligence Analysis Section is responsible for the production of various strategic intelligence products, including annual release of the National Threat Assessment on Organized and Serious Crime, the National Criminal Intelligence Estimate on Organized and Serious Crime and the Annual Report on Organized Crime. Strategic Intelligence Analysis Section also designed, developed and implemented a ‘strategic early warning’ methodology and system to enhance current law enforcement practices with a proactive approach to crime control and prevention.
National Intelligence Requirements Section
The National Intelligence Requirements Section is responsible for the national collection, collation and evaluation of criminal information and intelligence on organized and serious crime. The section also produces the National Collection Plan and the National Criminal Intelligence Requirements – documents that support the delivery of CISC products and services to assist law enforcement decision makers in setting enforcement priorities and developing crime reduction and prevention strategies.
ACIIS Training and Audit
The ACIIS Training Section is responsible for the provision of training to CISC bureaus and member agencies. The unit also develops appropriate lesson plans regarding query, maintenance and train-the-trainer methodologies, and produces supporting course material. The ACIIS Audit section performs quality control and audit functions on matters related to access, usage and data uploading in order to facilitate effective use of ACIIS by the user community.
ACIIS Client Support
The ACIIS Client Support Section facilitates communication between ACIIS users and provincial coordinators, Network Services, Helpdesk and other service areas related to the use of ACIIS. Assistance is also provided in obtaining and providing user statistics, managing user and equipment information, and verifying compliance with Memorandums of Understanding regarding security.
Program Resource Services is responsible for managing human resources, learning and development, information management, policies and procedures and other areas supporting Central Bureau. This section is the point of contact for Central Bureau personnel regarding their employment and development at CISC. This section is also responsible for CISC’s secondment program, in which personnel from member agencies are seconded to CISC for a 2 to 5 year period. Seconded personnel work as National Intelligence Officers, Strategic Intelligence Analysts, or members of the management team.
The Strategic Planning and Communications Section provides leadership, advice and subject-matter expertise to the CISC National Executive Committee, the CISC Supervisory Committee, the Director General and the Central Bureau Management Team. The strategic planning component provides advice, guidance and tools to assist in setting goals and targets, projecting the future needs of the organization, and aligning resources with strategic priorities. The communication component is responsible for the development and implementation of communications strategies, writing and editing services for CISC products and communiques, and provision of strategic communications advice in support of CISC’s mandate.
