Purpose and Guiding Principles

Purpose

The CISC Strategic Plan 2003 - 2007 is our ‘navigation aid’ to ensure we have charted the right course and to guide us safely through unknown territory.

The Strategic Plan is one step in a continuum that begins with the Mission Statement of CISC. Strategy is developed and evolves over time to meet the changing conditions of the world we live in.

The Strategic Plan helps in distinguishing CISC’s long-range, over-arching strategic objectives from myriad day-to-day initiatives.

GUIDING PRINCIPLES

CISC’s guiding principles are:

1. The Strategic Plan is everyone’s every-day job;
2. The Strategic Plan must be translated into strategic action;
3. Strategy development is a continuous process;
4. Effective leadership must be provided to attain performance excellence.
