Organizational Structure

Article 4 — CISC Structure

CISC consists of:

1. Central Bureau in Ottawa, accountable to the National Executive Committee and administered by Policing Support Services under stewardship of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police;

2. a network of Provincial Bureaus across Canada:

  • British Columbia/Yukon — CISBC/YT
  • Alberta — CISA
  • Saskatchewan — CISS
  • Manitoba — CISM
  • Ontario — CISO
  • Quebec — CISQ
  • New Brunswick — CISNB
  • Prince Edward Island — CISPEI
  • Nova Scotia — CISNS
  • Newfoundland and Labrador — CISNL



Article 5 — Central Bureau

The Central Bureau shall consist of the Director General, CISC and the staff and resources required to carry out the Mandate of CISC.

 

Article 6 — Duties of the Director General, CISC

1. The Director General, CISC shall:

a. oversee and provide strategic leadership to the CISC National Program;

b. act as a spokesperson for CISC on behalf of the national criminal intelligence community;

c. act as Secretary to the National Executive Committee;

d. act as Chair of the Supervisory Committee;

e. manage the Central Bureau.

2. In the absence of the Director General, CISC a Deputy Director General, Central Bureau shall assume the duties and responsibilities of the Director General, CISC.

 

Article 7 — Provincial Bureaus

Each Provincial Bureau shall consist of a Director and the staff and resources required to facilitate the timely production and exchange of criminal information and intelligence among CISC member agencies within the respective province, in support of the Mandate of CISC as defined in Article 2.

 

Article 8 — Duties of the Director, Provincial Bureau

The Director, Provincial Bureau shall carry out the core functions necessary for the operation of the Provincial Bureau as specified in, but not limited to, the CISC Constitution, the CISC Regulations, and the National Service Delivery Standards.

 

Article 9 — Provincial Executive Committees

1. Each Provincial Executive Committee, as the provincial CISC governing body, shall provide strategic leadership to ensure the long-term sustainability of the organization as defined within the Provincial Constitution.

2. The Chairs of the Provincial Executive Committees are ex-officio members of the National Executive Committee.
